Logikal Delivers Fast Payback For CDW Systems
CDW Systems

Gloucester based CDW Systems started using the LogiKal software from Business Micros (Aluminium) at the start of 2008, and claims that the system has already paid for itself.

CDW, which is one of the UK’s leading fabricators of aluminium doors, windows and shopfronts, is so far using the software for all of its order processing, estimating and quotes and says that the efficiencies it has delivered in terms of staff time has already repaid its investment.

As a trade only national supplier of unglazed framing products, CDW manufactures in the Sapa, Seniors, Beaufort and Smarts systems as well as using specialist frames in its own bespoke system. Before switching to LogiKal, CDW used separate order processing software for each system which MD Jerry Webb says meant individual members of staff tended to specialise in separate software and there was little continuity in how orders were managed.

Now, with the introduction of LogiKal to manage all of the systems, all order processing staff have been trained to use the same software which is saving time and delivering an improved service to customers.

Jerry Webb says: “The new software has made us more efficient and more effective. Orders will now be processed much more quickly, errors have been virtually eliminated because of the technology embedded within the software and it will enable us to turn quotes around much more quickly as well.”

For CDW’s customers, there are other significant benefits too as a result of the switch to LogiKal. For example, they will now receive tailor made acknowledgements for each order with much clearer information about what is to be supplied.

The LogiKal software, which is distributed exclusively in the UK by Business Micros (Aluminium) Ltd, is the market leading solution for aluminium fabrication. As well as managing the whole ordering process from quoting to invoicing, it also incorporates an internal CAD element and automated solutions for structural design which include wind loading and U-value calculations for frame and glass.

CDW is now looking to maximise the value of LogiKal within its business and Business Micros (Aluminium) will shortly be linking the software to its recently purchased new CNC machines. This will deliver full cutting optimisation, saw control and bar drawings and machining.

Jerry Webb adds: “We can still see considerable potential within LogiKal for delivering further efficiencies within the business which will benefit our customers.”
