Fabricators and installers using the Universal Aluminium profile system all now have access to the latest version of the LogiKal software from Business Micros (Aluminium) Ltd.

In August, Business Micros released the latest dataset for Bristol based Universal which includes both complete fabricated products and bar lengths of profile, enabling customers to produce quotes and drawings which are appropriate to their specific business needs.

In the two months since then, Business Micros has worked with more than 20 customers across the UK to upgrade their software to include the new datasets so that all the Universal users of LogiKal are now using the same platform.

The upgrades were completed remotely using the Netviewer application by Business Micros’ specialist team based in Tewkesbury liaising closely with each of the individual companies involved.

Peter Cawley, General Manager at Universal Aluminium, said the process had been very fast and efficient and had brought significant benefits to Universal and to its customer base. He said: “The new datasets mean customers can produce drawings more quickly and more accurately than ever before and, for the first time, they have the flexibility to produce quotes using our bar length option.

“Because everyone is now using the same platform, we can exchange files with customers with the certainty that there no errors and absolutely no compatibility issues.

“Feedback from our customers during the transition was very positive, particularly since the upgrades could be achieved without any interruption to their day to day operation.”

Universal Aluminium offers the LogiKal software programme to all of its customers as part of its ongoing commitment to continually improving the service they receive. It also uses the software to produce drawings and quotations for its own range of fabricated aluminium curtain walling, shopfronts, doors and windows.
